Feature Friday: 6/19/15

Hey everyone! This Feature Friday is all about Father's Day gifts. If you hurry, you just might be able to whip a few of these up in time to give to dad!

Here's what I made for my dad this year. We're huge Dallas Cowboys fans, so I made a Tunisian stitch pillow using a graph of the logo. I also made him some slippers in the team colors!

1. Two-Tone Charleston Pumps by Crafted From Stories
This is the pattern I used for the slippers above. It's actually a pattern for women's slippers, but by leaving off the strap and using one color, they can be adjusted for men! I love how simple and easily adjusted they are. I also made a pair for my mom! View and download the free pattern here: Two-Tone Charleston Pumps

2. Tee Bag by Priscilla's Crochet
This is a great idea for a dad that is an avid golfer, like mine. It holds a bunch of golf tees, and folded up it looks like a tea bag! Find the free pattern here: Tee Bag

Happy Hump Day!

Tomorrow is my 24th birthday! I have lunch with an old friend planned for tomorrow, and my wonderful husband gave me my present early: a Brother sewing machine! It's my first sewing machine ever and I'm pretty excited about it. I'll definitely need some serious practice before I go making anything crazy, though!

My new baby!

This week, I've finally picked up my Sophie's Universe afghan again. If you want a large, intricate project that will teach you some new tricks, I suggest checking this one out. This blanket was a Crochet Along, but even though it's over, the free pattern is still up. Find it here: Sophie's Universe CAL

Here's mine so far, and it's not even halfway finished!

So, what do you have planned for this week? Any projects on your hook?
Look for Friday's post- I'll be featuring some great Father's Day projects!

Feature Friday: 6/12/15

Hey everyone! I'm trying this new segment called Feature Friday, where I'll feature patterns, recipes, DIYs, or other posts from around the web. This week is all about crochet patterns, and they're all FREE!

Here we go!

1. Baby Star Afghan from The Crochet Crowd
This is a very easy blanket pattern that grows quickly! It can be kept small for a baby's blanket, or make it large for a throw. Mikey's video tutorial is very easy to follow and he is a great teacher. I highly recommend checking out the Crochet Crowd blog.

I made one for my little girl!
2. Mystery Afghan Crochet-Along from The Crochet Crowd & Yarnspirations    Have you ever done a crochet along? It's a fun way to learn new crochet techniques and connect with other crafters. The Mystery Afghan CAL 2015 has finished, but the pattern is still available! Check it out on the Crochet Crowd blog. Link to information: 2015 Mystery Afghan CAL

Pizza-rollies: A Great Recipe for Picky Eaters!

Hi everyone! Today I'd like to share a recipe with you. As a family of picky eaters, we eat a LOT of pizza and we needed to change it up. So, I tried this, and now it's our favorite way to eat pizza. Think of pizza, but in cinnamon roll form! I also love that this recipe is highly customizable, so it's easy to please everyone. It's also great for kids!

Yum! Here's what you'll need:

Welcome to my little corner of the internet! My name is Mandie, and this is my very first blog. Let me tell you a little bit about the things I hope to post about here.

After teaching myself to crochet in 2013, I've been "hooked" ever since! I hope to share with you some of my favorite patterns and tutorials.

To be perfectly honest, my husband is the cook in our family, but I'm trying to change that! With a little help from him and the internet, I am learning to fend for myself in the kitchen. I hope to share some of my favorite recipes with you, especially ones perfect for kids and picky eaters!

After starting with crochet, I'm hoping to delve a little deeper into the crafting world. Sewing is next on my list!

When my husband and I first lived together, we were broke all the time! After we had our first baby, I took it upon myself to start really watching where our money went. I hope to share my budgeting techniques with yo…
